I love all the new people I have met and continue to meet. The opportunities available to me as a student are abundant and allow me to choose what best fits my need. J-term trips and courses are amazing. I decided to stay closer to home for school but I am just far enough away to have my independence. Professors and academic advisors are always willing to help if you run into an issue you just have to be willing to ask and work with them also.

I attended Hartwick or "Hatewick" for nearly five years. During those five years I endured constant harassment from several students. I reported each incident in a professional manner to the ironically named "Campus safety". Nothing was done about any of these students.
The rumors these students spread among the student body prevented me from enjoying the campus life I paid $40K/ year. Ruined my personal reputation among my fellow students.
Campus safety themselves, backed by the head of student life, repeatedly dragged me against my will into Campus safety vehicles, and then into the head of campus safety's office. Where I was subjected to police interrogation techniques by the head of campus safety, Thomas Kelly. Kelly's partner in crime, David Clepp, was the main person behind forcing me into campus safety vehicles.
Hatewick administration ruined my life, my college experience, and I have yet to receive an apology or any form of compensation.

Hartwick College is a great place to attend. I graduated with my RN, BSN. The nursing faculty was extraordinary. A great quit, small school with much to offer.

I have had many opportunities to take up leadership roles while still maintaining exceptional grades. I've made forever connections with students, staff, and faculty at Hartwick and I have loved my time here.

Hartwick offers good programs with good professors and low class sizes. However, Hartwick often misses opportunities or cuts corners and fails to utilize valuable resources and opportunities. The commons has improved since my arrival, but I have seen undercooked meats served and eaten by students who later fell ill. Students have found bugs in their salads and mold on the breads used for sandwiches. As an art student, I walk to class each day down stairs that are cracked and rattle. Some of the steps move when you step on them, and theyre always slick during winter. Most of the stairs on campus are in disrepair and are fixed with cheap, quick, and ultimately ineffective solutions. Sidewalks are often not properly iced, so students slip and fall on their way to J term or spring term classes. Buttons for wheel chair users to open doors rarely work and campus is inaccessible. Hartwick has a lot of potential but often falls short due to their own mismanagement or lack of insight.

In my short time at Hartwick college I have grown and learned so much. In my short time here the campus has given me so many opportunities including club leadership positions, volunteer jobs, paid jobs, and networking opportunities. The school also has some really great staff members and advisors. One of the benefits of a small school is really getting to know your professors and the school staff and having that connection. The school does need some improvement in departments like pay for the staff and food quality, but change is slowly but surely happening.

One of the best colleges you can ever dream of with better facilities, the best campus safety, and the most mesmerizing view you can ever dream of.

Absolutely love Hartwick. The only downside is the ridiculous amount of stairs and the food isn't all that great. Greek life is present if that's something you're looking for, but the academics, especially the nursing program is rigorous and taken very seriously. As a student athlete, there is time for everything! You just have to time manage.

The community can be very welcoming at times, but we have been facing many difficulties with students not being open-minded and respectful of the campus.
The condition of the college is in pretty rough shape at the moment, especially with the food. Though they say they are accommodating to students' dietary restrictions, it feels like we are fed scraps, or it's the same four items we are left to deal with. There were times when there was just moldy food in there, and I had to throw it out, and I shouldn't have to explain why that is bad; I also lost hundreds of dollars buying my own food so that I was actually to eat eat and I come from an impoverished background.
The financial aid office often adds more money to your tuition without informing you, or they are utterly wrong about the actual amount. I have felt like the college has scammed me; they really only care about quality whenever there are significant events, especially when trying to convince students to enroll.

Hartwick College is a great college for undergraduate and graduate students. However, it is a private university so it can get a little pricey. The dorms are nice, but the residence halls' cleanliness can be questionable at times. It is important to note that the halls' cleanliness not only depends on the cleaning staff, but also on the students. Other than that, all I can say are positive things about Hartwick College. I highly recommend Hartwick College if you are looking for small classes, one-on-one teacher meetings, a wide selection of food to eat, great communities and clubs to join, fun events that are held throughout the year, and meeting new people and learning about their cultures. The campus has amazing views of Oneonta, New York and the valley located beyond the city. The people that work at the college are amazing, understanding, and easy to work with. The campus also has plenty of spaces for people to hang out by themselves or with friends and to study.

I really enjoyed how connected everyone is on campus. It's a smaller sized college which allows for more 1:1 time with professors and advisors. There are many different clubs available to join and athletic events to go watch. It's a small home away from home, plus the view is amazing.

I love how engaging my professors are when it comes to my interests. They’re very big on making sure that the goals that I have are put first. Somethings I’d like to see change would be the school’s usage of money. I’m an athlete and my track is falling apart. I’d like to see them put money towards track than continuously improving the facilities that don’t need it.

Hartwick College has absolutely brightened up my life in a way I could have never imagined. Before attending, I pictured my life at college to be dull and drab. I viewed the college experience as nothing more than getting a degree and graduating. After all, what was the point of college besides academics?
I am so utterly and gratefully glad that I was wrong.
Within a day, I was surrounded by an amazing, diverse, spectacular, kind, and selfless group of people that have stuck by my side indefinitely. Hartwick College is an expert at grouping together compatible people that help serve the community and overall raise student satisfaction. I don't know where I'd be if I had never decided to go to Hartwick, but I do know my life would not be as bright and enjoyable without this campus and the people who make it what it is.

Good school overall. As a student from closer to NYC, it was definitely a living transition making my way to Oneonta. The location is very isolated and the weather can be a bit harsh. The school itself offers so much academically and leisurely for students. No matter the major, you will fit right in - as long as you don't mind the cold!

I really love the accademic and financial help offered to students as well as the events the campus puts together for everyone. The office of diversity, inclusion, and belonging do a lot to make everyone feel included. If I could change one thing, I would ask that students be allowed to work longer for work study. We are only allowed to earn a certain amount, while some students may need more to help pay for tuition.

Hartwick college overall is fairly good, there tends to be a few bumps along the road through the years which is mostly caused by the student body. Tuition is steep though.
