As the name of this lottery suggests, the 4 Digit is somewhat different from the other entries in the portfolio of the Philippine Charity Sweepstake Office (PCSO). It was launched in the summer of 1997 and today; players can test their luck in one of the three drawings that occur every single week.
Upon its launch, 4D was the only digit game in the Philippines. Later on, PCSO added the 6 Digitto its portfolio.
The difference between 4D and games like 6 58 Lotto, for example, is that both the correct numbers and the correct order have to be guessed for a player to claim the top prize. In the case of standard lotteries, the numbers matter but the order in which they have been drawn is not important.
4 Digit Lotto Rules
Before taking a look at the latest 4D results, let’s examine the manner in which this game is played. Luckily, the rules are pretty straightforward.
For a chance to win the biggest prize, you have to choose a four-digit number in the range from 0000 to 9999. You can have an entry like 1792, for example. To win the top prize, the number drawn on the respective date will have to be an exact match. If the number drawn is 1729, you don’t have a claim at the top prize.
Single entry into 4D costs 10 pesos. Drawings take place on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. If you’re interested in getting your 4D result live, you will have to watch the televised broadcast session on PTV 4 at 9 p.m. local time. The four digits for the drawing are selected from the so-called four-chambered Mega Gem. A panel of experts inspects each Mega Gem before the drawing takes place to ensure that it has not been tampered with.
Apart from the standard gameplay, you can choose from several other PCSO 4D entries.
The Roll 1 entry costs 100 pesos, and it allows for the first digit to be generated by the central computer system. As a result, players get 10 sets of numbers, and they have the chance to win multiple prizes (as well as better overall odds).
A Roll 2 entry is similar to the Roll 1, and it also costs 100 pesos. In this case, the central system generates the last digit (by picking all numbers from zero to nine). Once again, the player has 10 entries into the respective drawing.
Perm or Rambol submissions make it possible to have different numerical permutations created. Once again, the goal is to have better odds and to win multiple prizes potentially. The most inexpensive entry is worth 40 pesos, and it features four combinations. The priciest entry is set at 240 pesos, and it features a total of 24 combinations.
4D submissions are possible at all of the PCSO authorized retail venues. At the time being, PCSO does not have an online ticket buying option for those in the Philippines. International online lottery agents do not support the PCSO games; hence people who aren’t in the Philippines cannot play either.
As per Philippine regulations, an individual has to be 18 or older to buy lottery tickets.
4 Digit Lotto Prizes
Depending on the 4D result for the respective drawing, you may be entitled to one of the three available prizes:

The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 10,000, which makes 4D one of the most favorable games in the PCSO portfolio.
4 Digit Lotto does not feature a jackpot rollover. The amount generated for the respective drawing will be distributed among the winners without being carried over. The game is also pari-mutuel. This means that if the particular drawing features more than one jackpot winner, the sum will be divided equally.
According to the PCSO official archive (entries are available since 2008), the biggest jackpot in the history of the game is 480,889 pesos. It fell on November 6, 2010, and there was one lucky winner. There have been several additional jackpots exceeding the 300,000 pesos mark. The 3D jackpot often goes above 100,000 pesos. Unlike games that feature a jackpot rollover, however, you may find it difficult to know which drawing is going to generate a larger top prize and will thus be worth joining.
The options for making a prize claim are based on the sum. If you have won up to 5,000 pesos in 3D, you can make a claim at any authorized PCSO retail venue. An amount in the range from 5,001 to 20,000 pesos can be claimed at the PCSO branch offices throughout the Philippines. Jackpot winners will have to visit the PCSO head office in Mandaluyong City.
Keep in mind that before 2018, lottery prizes in the Philippines were freed from taxation. As of January of the year, however, a 20 percent income tax has been imposed on all lottery prizes.
