She’s free!
One of the only characters that synergizes with characters such as Billy and Nekomata due to the limited roster of characters on release in 1.0.
Cons
There are no Ether damage characters for Nicole to support on release, but this will quickly change with the release of Zhu Yuan - still, for now, her Ether boost is only useful for herself.
Requires specific timing or constant swapping to maintain good uptime of DEF shred debuff on enemies due to its low duration.
Ratings
This tier list assesses characters based on their combat potential in Zenless Zone Zero’s current most demanding content, Shiyu Defense (SD). SD is a mode similar to Genshin Impact’s Spiral Abyss or Honkai Star Rail’s Memory of Chaos and requires multiple teams, Disk Drives and good W-Engines. This mode offers a reasonable mix of Boss encounters (single target) and Elite packs (2-3 targets), allowing multiple characters to find a niche but in the end, there is a bias toward single target focused characters at the top-end and tier list ratings will reflect that.
Please keep in mind Zenless Zone Zero is a skill-based game and each character has a different playstyle, difficulty level and even special tricks and combos. Zenless Zone Zero is also a team based game and it's only by combining both these factors to the highest level a character can reach optimal performance.

Nekomata
Nicole and Nekomata enable each other’s Additional Ability, opening up the last slot of a team member to your choice. Nicole also provides Nekomata an incredibly impactful Defense Shred debuff on enemies which when timed right can significantly increase Nekomata’s total damage output. Nekomata appreciates an ally who can allow her to perform Quick Assist in order to activate her Core Ability and Nicole is capable as well as very good at making it happen as her playstyle revolves around weaving her EX into combat often in order to keep her Defense Shred active. Nicole wants to keep her Defense Shred up using her EX which grants Nekomata a Quick Assist which keeps Neko’s buff up ending in a nice synergy giving Neko the tool’s she needs to deal max damage even when she can’t perform Dodge Counter.
Billy
Billy’s biggest issue is his access to good synergistic supportive options, especially ones that can enable his additional ability if possible. Fortunately for Billy, while there aren’t any Physical supports in 1.0, Nicole is a support who shares a faction with Billy, allowing them both to activate their additional abilities. Nicole also offers Billy other benefits - primarily through her excellent DEF shredding debuff capabilities. Nicole’s DEF shred is a great damage amplification tool but due to its low duration it should be deployed before Billy intends to execute burst damage and if possible weaved in between the teams rotation frequently to keep it active as much as possible.
Agent in Zenless Zone Zero and a member of the Cunning Hares. She can be obtained for free by completing the Prologue Chapter Business x Strangeness x Justness.
For my money, she's the best starter character in the game, and a capable support for whatever party you choose to try out. That said, here's the best ZZZ Nicole build plus how to get her levelling materials lower down.
A free character that can be unlocked early in the game. While Nicole is useful against small enemies, she may struggle against heavier enemies. Nicole is a free Support unit that can easily group up enemies with her EX Special Attack.
Since Nicole is an Ether Attribute character, this W-Engine is her signature weapon. When dealing Ether damage to enemies via Special Attack, Chain Attack, or Ultimate Attack, all squad members' damage against the target will increase by 15 percent.
For Nicole, the best W-Engine for her perfect build in Zenless Zone Zero is The Vault - her iconic weapon. Designed with the pink-haired Agent in mind, this W-Engine increases squad member damage by 15% whenever she deals Ether damage with an EX Special Attack, Chain Attack, or an Ultimate.
Standard Equipment: Custom-made Favonius Greatsword and Geo Vision. Intelligence: Gifted. Bennet one of the most talented fighters in Mondstadt, claims that Noelle is highly capable herself and believes that she would be one of the best Adventurers to join the Adventurer's Guild.
A 4-pc Chaotic Metal and 2-pc Swing Jazz or a 4-pc Swing Jazz and 2-pc Chaotic Metal are the best options for Nicole's Drive Disc setup at the moment. Both provide important stats for her, such as Ether DMG and Energy Regen. They also provide excellent 4-pc bonuses that buffs her damage as well as that of her squad.
How to get 100 pulls in Zenless Zone Zero. To get 100 free pulls in Zenless Zone Zero, you first need to unlock the in-game events. This is done by: Reaching Inter-Knot Level 8, which is easily achieved by completing the Commission below and, if needed, Trails in the Compendium.
Once you are given the chance to summon new characters in Zenless Zone Zero, which will come after you complete the tutorial, you will be given the opportunity to get a 5-Star character for free.
He can be obtained for free from the Rookie on the Road Event, after having completed Chapter 2 Main Commissions "Let's Go, Bro!" and "Mechanical Love".
How To Test Limited Characters In Zenless Zone Zero. The only way to test limited characters in ZZZ is through the event page. This can be a little tricky to find, but it would be best to first advance through the main story and unlock most of the controls.
Although completing missions may give you a couple of rolls from free materials, you only have a guaranteed chance of getting a free S-Rank character after 50 pulls on the standard banner. Those who've made 300 wishes on this same banner can claim an S-Rank Agent among the permanent ones offered within the game.
