For the second Monday in a row, one lucky ticket, this one purchased in California, matched all five numbers to win the $44.3 million Powerball jackpot in the lottery drawing on Monday, August 19.
The jackpot was reset (for the second time in one week) at $20 million for the Powerball lottery drawing on Wednesday, August 21 and has since rolled over once. The Powerball lottery jackpot now sits at $34 million with a cash option of $16.9 million for the drawing on Saturday, August 24.
The winning numbers for the Powerball lottery drawing on Saturday, August 24 were 5-15-21-24-43 and the Powerball was 17. Power Play was 3x. Those numbers produced another rollover.
The Powerball jackpot for Monday now rises to $44 million, with a cash option of $21.9 million.
There were two big winners in Saturday night's Powerball drawing. Tickets purchased in Michigan and Washington matched 5 for $1 million prizes.
